StormWise GWIS 2.1 Update – October 2025

This update resolves a compatibility issue with the "Create GWIS2.1 FGDB" tool in the StormWise Tools toolbox when used with ArcGIS Pro version 3.5 or later.

Issue Summary
Beginning with ArcGIS Pro 3.5, Esri removed support for assigning a spatial reference to feature classes within a feature dataset using the Define Projection tool. This change impacts the "Create GWIS2.1 FGDB" tool, which previously relied on "Define Projection" to assign coordinate systems to features in the GWIS 2.1 file geodatabase. As a result, the tool may fail or assign incorrect spatial references in newer versions of ArcGIS Pro.

What’s New in GWIS 2.1 (October 2025)
-Resolved the "Define Projection" issue in the "Create GWIS2.1 FGDB" tool caused by changes in ArcGIS Pro 3.5.
-Added a standalone script to handle projection definitions more reliably. The resulting features will now consistently have the correct coordinate reference system as defined in the input.
-No major changes to the installation process.
